3 years ago, Jana Lynn and Quinn lost their little boy in a way so tragic it's almost unthinkable. Yet during their grief, they looked for ways to serve others. This is a story of the tragic loss of their son, the insurmountable pain they experienced, and how they turned tragedy into triumph.

Countless times during the meeting, planning, interviewing, filming and editing process, I had to stop because it became too emotional to handle. I have a little blonde haired 4-year old who I love more than anything, I couldn't comprehend losing her. It was hard to stop the tears as I tried to orchestrate this story.

It's not often you come across people so inspiring they literally inspire you to be a better person, but this is what I experienced working with this incredible family. I can't imagine the pain they went through losing their child so tragically, but it's a testament to the human spirit, the family bond, and the overflowing faith in a loving Father in Heaven that brought them where they are today.

Please watch with headphones on for full effect. Hope you enjoy it.

Soh Family//Soh Awesome

Christina and Jessica wanted to get family pictures done as a late Christmas present for their parents. Christina told me her mom and dad were "conservative" and wanted to do something at Sears Portraits or something...."now, slowly raise your hand to your chin...imagine your weightless, surrounded by an ocean of seahorses."

They were so awesome to work with. Not your Sears Portrait session, but I think they turned out lovely.

Thanks Soh family!

Macaron Making Madness

This month I was invited by Emily Frame, the founder of Bijou Market, to document a Macaron making class done with a handful of big-time Utah bloggers. It was hosted at Shelly Smith from House of Smith's. This is the video I put together.

The MD and the MBA // Swenson Family

Carolyn and Josh are a pretty amazing couple. Carolyn is an OB resident at the University of Utah, Josh just finished his MBA there as well. They have a cute 10-month old boy. How they manage their schedules, parenting, and their sanity is beyond me.

We hit up Sugarhouse Park, a place I haven't been since the old snow sledding days of 1986. We found some grass, a kick-A tree, and some backlight. Love how these turned out. Gorgeous couple.

Favorite shot of the day.

Thanks Josh and Carolyn!

Chandler Fam video shoot

Here is the video I made for the awesome Chandler family. Such a blast to work with them.
I sent them the video and Jen the mom texted me back, "I could not thank you more, that is exactly what I dreamed of and priceless! A tear or two and a bunch of laughs. We can't stop watching it!"

This is why I love what I do.

Turn the freaking speakers up and get ready to dance.

Kiddie fashion shoot

My wife made this adorable blazer for Quincey to post on her blog and asked me to do the photos. We hit a little house down the street with some small peach trees. Add some backlight and a sugar-ed up 3 year old...

So excited to be shooting the new Portabello Pixie line coming out soon!

Adi & Tommy wedding interview

Tommy and Adi wanted to do something different for their wedding video, but didn't know what exactly. They wanted something fun so show at their wedding dinner program, and since there would be a lot of family there who hadn't seen them in a long time, we talked about something that would tell everyone more about their love story.

Of course, I had to make it fun.

Here is the video they showed at their wedding dinner. The entire room was busting up laughing the whole time. Take a funny, adorable couple and ask them questions they have no time to prepare for, keep the camera rolling the whole time, and with some fun editing you get this...

If you don't smile and laugh through this, check your pulse...

Wedding ceremony at Sundance video to coming soon...
